Lavendon village entered the above competition again this year.
Last year we entered the competition after several years of absence and scored 83 out of 100. The Parish Council took on board the constructive comments by the judges last year and addressed the areas in the village that needed improvement.
This year we scored 92 out of 100 with three out of nine categories scoring maximum marks.
This is an amazing achievement for the village so thank you to you all that make our village a clean and desirable place to live. We have been awarded a Certificate of Merit by the organisers of the competition.
The winner in our category was Hedgerley with 98 and Chearsley and Cuddington tied on 97. This year was a high scoring year.
Can we do better next year? The Parish Council are keen to try.
One of our councillors, Martino Ginepro, has put forward a petition to the UK Government and the Environment Secretary to tackle the issue of littering nationwide. In our own small way we are trying to keep on top of the littering and dog fouling issues that we have around the village but it would be great if we could get behind this petition and help towards solving this ever growing problem.

Additional Recycling
Would you like to recycle more of your rubbish than you can do through Milton Keynes Council?
The Parish Council has been approached by a Lavendon resident who is concerned about some household items that are currently not recyclable through Milton Keynes Council but are recyclable through Charity Recycling MK.
You may have read about the charity in MK Citizen recently. It is run by George Thomson who started recycling household waste 5 years ago. George lives in Downs Barn, Milton Keynes and has containers on his property for the recycled waste.
Following the storm floods in May 2018 a review was commissioned in November of the same year. Letters have been sent to residents of the affected areas but views are also being sought from around the parishes with regards to flooding issues.
To this end we have attached the letter as sent to residents and the accompanying questionaire. If you would like to submint your views please download these documents and submit them by 8th April 2019.
We plan to start Litter Picking in the village again on 6 April and can start with a flourish by being part of the Great British Spring Clean. Please meet outside the Pavilion at 10.00 am.
If you haven’t already been on a Litter Pick why not come and join us.
Everyone welcome – all ages and equipment is provided.
There is now an charging point for electric cars sited on the pavilion car park. This charging point is part of Chargemaster's POLAR network.
We will be meeting at 10.00am on Saturday 22nd April at The Pavilion for some community litter picking.
